Gab about Foiling - Embossing Powder and Stamps

Hello there! Today I am sharing a new discovery that I made using my Sending All These Things stamp set and my Minc. I love using my Minc and am always looking for new ways to use it; I’m also a big fan of stretching my stamps. I decided this technique would make a great video tute, so I filmed the whole process, this includes the first attempt that was a total disaster.

If you do not have time to watch the video, what I learned is that you can use any stamp set that you have with clear embossing powder. Turn your Minc on to the “1” heat setting until the light is green, then let it cool down for about 5 minutes and turn it back on, you can set it to, “0” this time and run your image through with the foil on top inside the carrier folder (or copy paper) and you will get a crisp, foiled image. This means you can now foil tons of images and get completely new looks!

I foiled this stamp 2 times, 3 if you watched the video, and added some sequins and starts to finish the card. Any heat foil will work, I used some Deco Foil and some Minc Foil and both results were gorgeous.

Until next time, stay safe in these crafting streets.

Happy crafting,

Gaby

Gab about Lawnfawnatics - Happy Little Critters

Stamping, Copic Markers, Lawn Fawn, StampsGabriela Sims3 Comments

Hello there! The new challenge is all about critters so I pulled out several stamp sets and got to work. I decided to do a one layer card that involved Copic coloring and some masking. I wanted my critters to be doing something normal, so I decided to have them  delivering a handmade card. I used Toadally Awesome, Say What? Christmas Critters, Love Letters, Yay Kites, and Jump for Joy. I started by arranging my images to get an idea of what I would need to mask.

Then I started stamping and masking using some Post-it tape.

I then used my copics to color the sky and grass.

Next I peeled the images off one by one and started to color them.

My sentiment is from the Yay, Kites set and I stamped it with some Versamark ink and heat set it with white embossing powder. I finished by adding some Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen, some tiny hearts, and some Gelly Roll pen accents. I trimmed a piece of Gotta Have Gingham down and mounted it on a 4.25” x 5.5” card base.

This was a super fun card to make and it reminded me that I have quite a few Lawn Fawn sets that I really love. Until next time, stay safe in these crafting streets.

Happy crafting,

Gaby

Lawnfawnatics Challenge - Interactive Cards

Lawn Fawn, Crafts, Stamps, CardsGabriela Sims3 Comments

Hi there! I absolutely love Lawn Fawn products and I thought I would play along with this challenge.   The theme for this one is  interactive cards. I used the "Bicycle for You" and "Bun in the Oven" stamp sets for this as well as the "Simple Road Border" die. This was so fun to make and when you pull the tab, the bicycle moves. I used "Slide on Over" to create the slider portion.

Here is a quick video to show him riding along!

I used the tiny faces from "Bun in the Oven" for the balloons and the "Congrats!" from that set for the pull tab. I did not make a video for this card, but I might recreate it in the future. Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

I Love You - Want2Scrap and Quick Quotes

How to, Paper crafting, Tutorial, Quick Quotes, Crafts, Coloring, Scrapbooking, Layout, StampsGabriela SimsComment

Hi everyone, Gabriela here today and I finally made a page I've been thinking about for a while. I thought it would be fun to make a page with a shaker window, so I tried it out. I used a chipboard cutout from Want2Scrap along with some of their bling and of course paper and ink from Quick Quotes. I scrapped a picture of my husband and I on vacation in New Orleans a few years ago, it's one of my favorite pictures of us and it seemed like a good fit for this page.

So this was my first year going to Scrapbook Expo and I got my entire life from it! There were so many booths and activities! I had no idea what I was missing but now that I have seen the crafty promised land, I am already excited about next year. There is a Mega Make & Take on Thursday night and then an all day crop on Saturday and Sunday. The shopping floor is also open on Friday & Saturday and classes are offered on those two days as well.

The side with the vendors/exhibitors had lots of product but also lots of space to move around and be comfortable.

I went with one of my coworkers and it was also her first time, so we wanted to try everything so we did a Make & Take with Fun Stamper's Journey and Richard Garay was there! We made this super cute Christmas tag and even got a free stamp.

This is cool and it only took about 15 minutes.
