Hello there! The new challenge is all about critters so I pulled out several stamp sets and got to work. I decided to do a one layer card that involved Copic coloring and some masking. I wanted my critters to be doing something normal, so I decided to have them  delivering a handmade card. I used Toadally Awesome, Say What? Christmas Critters, Love Letters, Yay Kites, and Jump for Joy. I started by arranging my images to get an idea of what I would need to mask.

Then I started stamping and masking using some Post-it tape.

I then used my copics to color the sky and grass.

Next I peeled the images off one by one and started to color them.

My sentiment is from the Yay, Kites set and I stamped it with some Versamark ink and heat set it with white embossing powder. I finished by adding some Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen, some tiny hearts, and some Gelly Roll pen accents. I trimmed a piece of Gotta Have Gingham down and mounted it on a 4.25” x 5.5” card base.

This was a super fun card to make and it reminded me that I have quite a few Lawn Fawn sets that I really love. Until next time, stay safe in these crafting streets.

Happy crafting,

Gaby

Gab about Lawnfawnatics - Wonderful Winter

Hi everyone! Anyone who reads my blog knows I’m a longtime Lawn Fawn fan. I finally decided to try one of the challenges. This time it’s Wonderful Winter, so I used the Winter Skies set, my Copic Ciaos, and some tips from Sandy Allnock in this amazing video.  I might try this again with a pastel winter sky or maybe a fall sky/background.  Take a look at Sandy’s channel for a ton of coloring tips for Copics, Watercolor, and Colored Pencils.

Lawnfawnatics Challenge - Interactive Cards

Lawn Fawn, Crafts, Stamps, CardsGabriela Sims3 Comments

Hi there! I absolutely love Lawn Fawn products and I thought I would play along with this challenge.   The theme for this one is  interactive cards. I used the "Bicycle for You" and "Bun in the Oven" stamp sets for this as well as the "Simple Road Border" die. This was so fun to make and when you pull the tab, the bicycle moves. I used "Slide on Over" to create the slider portion.

Here is a quick video to show him riding along!

I used the tiny faces from "Bun in the Oven" for the balloons and the "Congrats!" from that set for the pull tab. I did not make a video for this card, but I might recreate it in the future. Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

CAS (Clean and Simple) Card with no stamps.

Hi everyone, Gaby here with a CAS card using some dies I like, layering, and markers.  I wanted to challenge myself to make some nice cards without using stamps.  I started by die cutting the hearts out of two pieces of cardstock, one pink and one white.  Then I ran a coordinating piece of cardstock, one in white and one in kraft and ran them through my Xyron to use for layers.  Then I placed the leftover piece from the die cut onto the sticky side of each layer and replaced the die cuts into the opposite color paper, like an inlay.  Once that was done, I cut the paper at an angle and then adhered it to a pink piece of 4.25" x 5.5" with foam tape.  I had some additional die cut words that I covered with Glossy Accents and let them dry.  Once I attached those, I added some Nuvo Glitter Drops and some faux stitching with a Copic Multiliner and a white gel pen.  Once that was all dry, I colored the inside of the hearts using a Spectrum Noir Glitter pen.

The heart die is from Simon Says Stamp and the words are die cuts from the Lawn Fawn heart envelope die.  I will be posting more cards like this in addition to my regular projects that use stamps, stencils, inks, embossing powder, and the kitchen sink! I just think it's nice sometimes to use some of your supplies that you might forget about because of all the new products. Until next time, happy crafting!
