Cricut Bright Pad and Tombow Markers

Hand Lettering, Tutorial, Graphic design, Cricut, Drawing, ColorGabriela SimsComment

Hi there, it's Gaby here with a quick project that will let you work on your hand lettering without eraser marks!

Meow!

Meow!

I started with some drawing paper and a few Tombow pens.

I drew my image on paper and then put it over my Bright Pad with another sheet of drawing paper on top.

Then I traced the drawing and added some color!

I added some details and a few more colors and it was all done!

I did my tracing with a Tombow Fudenosuke and then added details with my Monotwin. This was a fun, easy project and this would be a good way to practice your hand lettering as well.  Until next time, happy crafting!

Hand Lettering is Amazing.

Hi there everyone.  I have been working hard on my hand lettering and was able to make a piece of framed wall art that says "But first, Coffee!".  I did this lettering on my iPad and then made a cut file that I sent to my Cricut as a "Print & Cut" file.  Once it was cut out, I added some stamped images and adhered the letters and put everything in a jazzy frame.

I will be making more of these and posting them in the shop; once I figure out how to upload cut files, I will have some free downloads for you too! That's all for today, but you can always check me out on IG by clicking on that slideshow on the right, happy crafting!

iPad Pro is Everything and I've Been Missing Out

Maaaaannnn, where do I begin!? I finally sat down to use an iPad Pro to try handlettering because I keep seeing everyone using ProCreate, so I wanted to try it. When I tell you that I literally improved my lettering in minutes, I am not exaggerating. I even rewatched a time lapse video of my first attempt and you could see the progress after 35 minutes! That's a really neat feature by the way; you can export a video of your art work. I am just starting out, so I am super excited about practicing and learning more. Before I was using my Wacom pad and Adobe Illustrator; I won't get rid of that, but I can tell an immediate difference in ease of use and results.

Below you can watch the video of me starting to use the software and finally getting the lettering right.

I cannot stress enough how excited I am! I even did another picture for the #DNDchallenge.  You can get the full list of prompts over on www.bydawnnicole.com along with some other cool tips and techniques about hand lettering! Yesterday's prompt was "Hot Pink" and I may have gotten carried away.

So easy to do backgrounds!

I will be using this more than my Wacom I think, any letterers out there care to chime in? Leave a comment about what method you prefer; is it iPad, Wacom, or paper? Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting.

Gab with Gaby - I own a stamp company!

I am beyond excited, I am exhilarated! A few months ago I decided to start my own stamp company, and today, those stamps go live! I have 4 sets for my first launch. These are all my original characters and artwork; these characters have lived in my head and inside of sketchbooks for a few years now and it is indescribable to see them as stamps. I am so proud to finally show them to you all; it was a huge amount of work to bring these to life and it was worth every minute.  I love stamping and card making so much that this just seemed like a natural progression.  This will mark year one of Gab with Gaby stamps and products (that's right, I will be announcing more items in my shop soon).  Thank you all so much for visiting this creative corner of the web.

Ok, now on to the stamps!  This is each stamp set and a brief description.

These are the Jelly Friends, in their first stamp set -"My JAM!" This set will let you wish someone a Happy Birthday or tell them they're your jam.

This is Mr. Snugglekins in his first stamp set - "I am a Meowfox." This little meowfox loves coffee and talking...even if the only word he can say is "Meow".

This is Randy Narwhal in his first stamp set - "Narwhal-some" This narwhal is always ready for adventure and some encouragement.

Lifeprint is Giving Me Life

Color, Coloring, Crafts, Diy, Drawing, Graphic design, Photography, Tutorial, UnboxingGabriela SimsComment

I had to do a quick post on this AMAZING new tool I got this past week, it's called Lifeprint and you can buy one here or here.  The whole premise is so cool and fun, the printer uses augmented reality to print a code into a photo that looks normal but when scanned with their app reveals a video clip, it's like Harry Potter.  I did a short unboxing and tried it out on a stop motion that I did a while back and the result was so cool.  Check out the video below.

Can you even imagine how much neat stuff you can do for scrapping and card making with this?  You can have a card with you personally wishing someone happy birthday! The only thing they have to do is download the app, and that's free! I am so excited to use this for cards and artwork. I hope you enjoyed the video and you get a chance to try one of these, happy crafting!
