So I have done it, I have created a full page and loved every minute of creating it! I started with one of our Sepia toned wedding photos and built my page around that. I decided to go with a mono print background I did in dark, rich colors and one of my background stamps.  Then I added some paper rosettes with enamel dots and buttons and layered those onto a paper heart. To mount the photo I chose to round my corners and used some Distress Ink on the mat to keep that vintage theme going. I used a quote from our wedding invitations and more Distress Ink. I adhered the photo with foam tape and added another paper flower with a rain stone center.

The finished version.

To do the mono print background I used the Creative Palette from Stampendous an I found it to be very easy to use and clean.

I will be doing more projects like this soon with videos, thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Gab about your Stash #1

So I LOVE crafting supplies as evidenced in the craft storage post, but I'm trying to get better about using what I buy, so starting in the next few weeks, I am going to make a habit of using supplies I already have and scraps of projects from the week. I will make posts here and on my YouTube channel so that people can keep up. I will do a 10 minute Monday, a technique card, a product review, and then a Saturday Scrapternoon where I use up that week's scraps! In really excited about that and I hope it will keep me on task to create more and work through a massive stash of supplies and tools.  I have lots of tools I have never reviewed, but that I use often, so it'll be nice to share long term pros and cons.  In the meantime, here are this week's cards.

Gab about Craft Storage

So my husband agreed that it would be a good idea to convert the closet in the craft room into extra craft storage. Yesssssss! Here is how it went down.

A mess!

A mess!

First I removed the doors.

Easier to see.

Then clearing out the stuff!

So much stuff!

Then adding the shelves.

Looking good!

Now the fun part, adding supplies.

Finished!

Finished!

I am beyond happy with the results!! I can see and access all of my supplies now and I'll probably add a little wall storage soon, but the bulk of the work is done! The final thing I need to do is to mount a curtain rod and put a drape across the door so I can "close" it when it's not in use. This could work in any smaller closet, it took me about 2 hours to do, I bought that shelf at the home improvement store for $24.99. Let me know if you have any questions, happy crafting!!!

So I did manage to make the butterfly card I mentioned before, but I wanted to post this card first! I had the idea to make a card that said I love you oodles and had a happy bowl of noodles on the front.  So I altered one of my Avery Elle Stamps and made this card.  The video below details the whole thing, including the watercolor background and the hand lettering. I used Tombow markers to do my lettering and my Kuretake set to do the watercolor.  I used a clear piece of acetate for my watercolor palette to lay down the initial background color.  I have a new set of Ranger Watercolor brushes that I'm using in this video,  I like them a lot.

I hope you enjoyed this video and that it inspired you to try some new ideas with stamps and materials you already have, until next time Happy Crafting!!

Next post will for sure be about the butterfly card, just have to finish up the video!
