Shell-Ebrate with Mermaids

Hi everyone, Gabriela here today with a card I made using the Anchors Aweigh Collection and a stamp I really love. I decided to make a mermaid themed card using the shell pattern from the Anchors Aweigh papers. I started with my stamp and then colored it in using my Copics.

Then I traced, colored and cut out my shell.

Then I used some of my chalking inks and a blender pen to color the top inside of the card.

I decided that I wanted to make the card a pop-up, so I attached some paper to both sides of the "shell" and attached the mermaid.

I added some glitter with my Wink of Stella pen in Clear.

Then I added some iridescent bubbles and did a little more blending on the inside.

Here is the final product.

I had a blast making this card and getting into this month's challenge! I hope you all do too!

Review of the Xyron 9" and 5" Creative Station

Hi there everyone! Today I'm doing a review of the combo Creative Station from Xyron.  I've had my original 5" Creative Station for a while now and I was waiting to get this amazing combo and the chance finally came around to get a great deal  on a bundle. Check out the video below:

My First Finished Quilt!

I am beyond excited!!! I finished my quilt, in less than a week. I was originally gave myself 6 weeks to finish two baby quilts, but to my delight, this one came together so quickly that I was able to surprise the recipient this morning. I have to thank an amazing person who helped me through this, she looked at my progress everyday and gave me tips to make things easier. Without her help, I would still be trying to figure out what to do with all of these squares.  This pattern is called The Hundred Hugs Quilt, and you can find it here.

Here is how the process went down. 

Charm squares. 

Beginning rows. 

Center is done. 

Border added. 

More squares. 

Finished top with the backing color. 

Batting and backing attached and quilted together! 

Binding half done. 

Completed quilt. 

Then as a way to say thanks for the quilting help, I made this card.

I also made a card to go along with the quilt!  

Embossed mustaches with a tag. 

Then wrapped it up. 

My husband delivered it today and I'm happy to report that the mom-to-be loved it! I hope this inspires you to share some handmade kindness of your own, happy crafting!  

Alphabet Punch Board Review

Hi everyone, here today with a review on the We R Memory Keepers Alphabet Punch Board. I saw that this was out, but I hadn't seen it in stores yet, so I ordered from HSN (they have a really great price right now) and then filmed a video of how it works.  I am a big fan of We R Memory Keepers products, I have a Fuse, the 1-2-3 Punch Board, the Flower Punch Board and I used Pinwheels in my wedding! This one is the first one I bought without watching a demo first, so my reaction and use is "fresh". I have to say I really like it, it's perfect for banners or wall decor and figuring it out only takes s few minutes, watch the video below for the full review and see the punch board in action.

Like I said in the video, the only thing I would like to see added is the ability to have smaller letters, maybe half size. Other than that I was extremely pleased with the cut quality and the speed.  You can complete a banner in a few minutes and precutting the paper to 3" x 5" rectangles will help speed things up too! If you're only doing a few letters or numbers, you can use the board to cut your paper down to size.  I hope this video was helpful, happy crafting.
