Xyron and Quick Quotes, Destash Those Scraps

Cards, Xyron, How to, Tutorial, Paper crafting, Crafts, Diy, ToolsGabriela SimsComment

Hi everyone, Gabriela here today with a video that will help you destash your scraps. I have so many nice scraps from several Quick Quotes Collections that I hate to waste them, so here is a fun way to combine your scraps with a paper trimmer and die cutting to get a brand new look of patterned background paper.

I did a video for this technique because I thought that would be easier to follow than pictures. If you use this technique, you can make about a dozen cards in an hour. This technique would also work on a scrap page as a cool background accent, check out the video below.

I hope the video was easy to follow and that you have a great new way to use your scraps and make them brand new again. Thanks for stopping by.

Lettering on a Wacom Pad using Adobe Illustrator

Tutorial, Diy, Tools, Drawing, Hand Lettering, Graphic design, How to, GraphicGabriela SimsComment

Hi there! I wanted to pop in and give you guys a quick tutorial of how to jazz up your hand lettering.  I have an Intuos Wacom Pad that I really love for digital drawing and I wanted to do some lettering on it as well.  I used Adobe Illustrator for this project; a simple graphic of my web address. You can play around with some of the settings, I settled on a Calligraphic Brush at .75 pt.

Then once I finalized and smoothed everything out, I sent the image to my toner printer and printed it on 2 sheets of cardstock, a purple sheet and a white sheet.

Then to apply the foil I used my trusty Minc with fuschia and holographic foils.

These were so fun to make! I can see myself making lots of prints like this and experimenting with more brush types and techniques and doing more digital stamps.  See you soon, happy crafting!

Shell-Ebrate with Mermaids

Hi everyone, Gabriela here today with a card I made using the Anchors Aweigh Collection and a stamp I really love. I decided to make a mermaid themed card using the shell pattern from the Anchors Aweigh papers. I started with my stamp and then colored it in using my Copics.

Then I traced, colored and cut out my shell.

Then I used some of my chalking inks and a blender pen to color the top inside of the card.

I decided that I wanted to make the card a pop-up, so I attached some paper to both sides of the "shell" and attached the mermaid.

I added some glitter with my Wink of Stella pen in Clear.

Then I added some iridescent bubbles and did a little more blending on the inside.

Here is the final product.

I had a blast making this card and getting into this month's challenge! I hope you all do too!

Make a Brag Book

Coloring, Diy, How to, Paper crafting, Quick Quotes, TutorialGabriela SimsComment

Hi everyone, Gabriela here with a project made from this month's Club Q.  I immediately fell in love with the small bound book and since I am preparing a set of baby items for one of my friends, I thought I would create a small book to go with the quilt and burp cloths.  I mention in the video that I am making a book for colors, but you can use this as a brag book or a miniature art journal as well.

I left a space on the front for a name for baby, I'll be putting "Colors" in that space; check out the video below.

I hope you enjoyed the video and you make something amazing with your Club Q.
