Cards, Christmas, Crafts, Florigami, Drawing, DiyGabriela SimsComment

Hi everyone!!! I wanted to post a quick tutorial for this snowman shaker card I finished.

The finished card!

The finished card!

I started by using some white card stock and a snowman stamp.

2 stamped snowmen in case I make a mistake.

Then I colored one in with my Spectrum Noir markers.

All dressed up.

All dressed up.

Then I fussy cut the head off, because I knew that was all I would be using.

Then I cut a 4.25" x 11" strip of heavyweight card stock for my base.

Then I cut a 3.74" x 5" piece of red card stock.

Red insert.

I decided to spray a sheet of paper I had with spray glitter to give it some shine. The paint takes 10-15 minutes to dry, so I was working on other things while it dried. Here is the result.

Next I started on my shaker pocket. I used a circle die one size bigger than the die I chose for my card and taped it to a plastic sheet.

Secured die and the Fuse.

Then I cut around about 3/4 of my circle, leaving an opening at the top.

Then I filled it with sequins and glitter, and then sealed the pocket shut.

To cut the window I used a die slightly smaller than the shaker pocket. I taped the glitter paper and the card base together and taped the die to the front.

Now came the assembly of the card. I started by adding a sweater to the snow man and attaching him to the back of the glitter paper so that his scarf was hanging out.

I just cut out a piece of card stock and stuck his head on it.

Then attached the pocket to the back of the glitter paper as well.

Almost done.

Then added the red insert and it was done and ready for greatness!

Using the same technique I made this gift tag.

Moving Owl Cards

I made some cards today using these cute owls. One card is a moving card.

I also made a watercolor and embossed card.

Done with embossing powder, watercolor pencils, and distress ink.

Finally, the last card I made was a sliding pop-up also featuring some owls.

So I have been doing my own artwork and using them as stamps and this weekend I had the time to really turn them into cards. I made three, one is a Congratulations Card, seen below.

Yaassss, you did it!

Then I used Misha to say Arigato.

A fun, elegant thank you.

And finally, the resident forest friend wishing someone a happy birthday.

So these were very easy to put together, since I'd already colored the images after drawing them, I just printed them off and added some text and layers. These stamps are for sale in my spicyninja etsy shop if you'd like to make your own.  That's all for now, happy crafting.

Treat yo' self!

So I have been playing with the idea of making a card for one of my favorite phrases and here it is...

Sonia being fabulous.

Sonia being fabulous.

This is a birthday card for one of my girlfriends! I drew Sonia a while back and just cut her out with Print & Cut on my Explore so I could attach her to this card. I used glitter vellum in a Cuttlebug embossing folder, some pink glitter card stock, and a Recollections edge punch.  The card size is 5" X 7".

I also received my Dazzles in the mail today from Hot off the Press and used them to make this...

So that's it for today's projects, happy crafting!

So I LOVE trying new products and techniques, but I just fell in love with the Intuos tablet. It makes it easy to clean and perfect your drawings. I have the Sketchbook Pro option and I can honestly say it's totally worth it. The tablet and software allowed me to turn this...
